UCL Film & TV Society Muslims and the Media aims to explore both positive and negative representation of Muslims and Islam across the realms of both TV and Film. In each episode, Samiya will focus on a different genre of visual media, and look with more detail into the societal impact the films have had.
In the third episode, Samiya examines the representation of Muslim women as sexualised beacons of innocence or as oppressed undesirables.
